USA digs its claws military in Latin America to impose the hegemony

Venezuela is one of Latin America, with Ecuador and Bolivia, who have rejected in the past decade the US military presence on its territory. However, Washington has shifted its strategy to maintain its influence in the area.

In 2007 the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa decided not to renew the agreement he had with US for the use of the Manta military base. It was certainly a statement of intent that left Washington without one of their strategic locations in the region. However, before the birth of these movements, USA launched a plan to ensure its military presence. In this respect, Ana Esther Ceceña, international and expert in geopolitics and militarization analyst, says that "in the continent have counterhegemonic processes.
It is a way to intimidate the other processes and press them, penetrate them, destabilize and achieve established the conditions of almost total permissiveness ".
In this regard, in 2008 Washington reactivated the Fourth Fleet of the US Southern Command, which had been out of service since 1950.

Then in 2009 it reached an agreement with Colombia by which so far maintains seven military bases in that country. "There was the American state jurisdiction, not the Colombian government," said the expert Ana Esther Ceceña.

In addition, in recent months the military contingent has increased in Peru. Although the government says it is a cooperation that will bring benefits to the country, at no rejection to the presence of US troops in Peruvian territory.

Washington has always had a strong interest in influencing the future of Latin America. For decades, governments and related regimes established under the Condor Plan. Then splashed the continent of military bases, anything to control this region of strategic importance for US
Some analysts go further and say that Latin America would not exist without American hegemony. Ana Esther Ceceña asserts that "it is a disciplinary policy on the one hand, but on the other is that this continent is very rich in materials, some natural resources are strategic. And that's a reason to install military bases or the presence of militarization purpose on the one hand to control the territories and those resources and also to inhibit the presence of competitors in them. "

Some governments already have definitely moved away from American influence; others look favorably greater collaboration in security. Meanwhile, citizens fear that Latin America again become the US backyard
