(CNN) - A new national survey shows that Ben Carson is ahead of Donald Trump in the Republican presidential race.
The retired neurosurgeon has 29% support compared to 23% of Trump, according to a poll by NBC News / Wall Street posted on Monday night.
The two are followed by Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, with 11%, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, with 10% and the former governor of Florida, Jeb Bush, with 8%.
Others are far behind: the executive Carly Fiorina former director of technology, the former governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee; Governor of Ohio, John Kasich, and the governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie, each have a 3% support, while Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, has 2%.
The survey polled 400 likely GOP primary voters between 25 and 29 October, which means that the results include both pre- and post-answers CNBC debate October 28. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.
A survey conducted by CBS / New York Times last week, also found that Carson was ahead of Trump, leaving the property tycoon out of the first position for the first time in months.
A survey of the Monmouth University, Republican voters in New Hampshire released Monday found that although Trump and is not leading to national-level is still the favorite in the key early voting state with 26% versus 16% Carson and 13% of Rubio, who is in third place.
